Our Team of Professional Yoga Teachers in Rishikesh (India)
Yogi Prakash Ji (Lead Trainer at the 200-Hour YTTC)
Yogi Prakash Ji is the founder and lead trainer of Omkar Yoga Shala, Rishikesh, and a sincere practitioner of the yogic path. He was born into a traditional Vedic family in Uttarakhand, within the Himalayan range, where spirituality was a natural part of daily life. Growing up in such an environment deeply shaped his outlook, discipline, and understanding of yoga beyond the physical practice.
From an early age, he travelled across various sacred and spiritual centers in India, spending time in ashrams and observing different yogic traditions. These experiences cultivated in him the mindset of a seeker, someone committed to inquiry, self-discipline, and inner growth rather than surface-level practice.
His formal training took place in Rishikesh, where he studied with multiple traditional ashrams and teachers. Teaching yoga in Rishikesh since 2012, Yogi Prakash Ji developed a strong reputation for his clarity in asana alignment, anatomical understanding, and precise hands-on adjustments. His teaching respects individual body structure and emphasizes safety, awareness, and longevity in practice.
Yogi Prakash Ji’s approach blends traditional yogic wisdom with modern anatomical insight, allowing students to understand not just how to practice, but why. His classes integrate asana, pranayama, philosophy, and mindful awareness, offering yoga as a complete system rather than a physical workout.
In 2021, he founded Omkar Yoga Shala with the vision of preserving the authenticity of yoga while making it accessible and relevant for contemporary practitioners. His teaching style is rooted in theory, discussion, demonstration, and direct experience, guiding students toward a deeper and more responsible understanding of yoga.
For Yogi Prakash Ji, yoga is ultimately a path of awareness —
a balance of discipline, intelligence, and inner stillness.
